The Place of South Pasadena is pleased to announce that we have been chosen by The Bolton Foundation to receive a generous grant this holiday season!
The Bolton Foundation chooses a select few nonprofit organizations every year to receive a generous grant. The Foundation is a charitable organization that donates to worthwhile local causes. This year The Place is honored alongside St. Anne’s, The Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
We at The Place are extremely honored to be selected. We were nominated by a parent of a teen who benefitted from our services and are tremendously grateful! There will be a ceremony held in December in which all teens and supporters are welcome to join us! More information will follow.
The Place would like to give a big thank you to everyone who came to our Second Annual Tacos in the Park Fundraiser! The event was a great success. We’d like to give a special shout-out to SPHS Principal Janet Anderson, Councilmember Robert Joe, and Mayor Diana Mahmud for coming out and supporting The Place.
Some tremendous tacos and incredible hibiscus-raspberry iced tea.
Tea was donated by local coffee shop, Charlie’s Coffeehouse.

The Painted Brain has provided weekly art workshops at The Place. Many wonderful art pieces have been created – from Galaxy Jars to jewelry and collages.
Our three BSW interns are wrapping up their final year internship. We have been sharing our interns with the South Pasadena Unified School District where they have provided small group and individual counseling to our young people, under the guidance and supervision of our Director Natasha Prime. They have grown close to our teens and have learned many important things about working with youth.
Next year, we will be working with MSW interns and continuing our partnership with the South Pasadena school district and CSULA
We continue to participate in the monthly Garden Workdays. We have been growing strawberries, onions, carrots, lettuce and broccoli.
